It is a worrying thought that solvents that come from paints in everyday use are being released into the air and is not something we would actually wish to happen. Volatile Organic Compounds or VOCs are entering the the air. This can result to many bad effects; for instance, it can result in the ozone to deplete, it can add to the problem of smog and likewise the big one; it can add towards global warming. As people become increasingly aware of the problems posed by global warming, other options to normal paints are being sought. The initial popularity of environmentally friendly paints was not at all impressive when they first came to the market in the nineties.
So people now are aware that using regular paints contribute to global warming and other issues, so surely they’ll begin using environmentally friendly paints? But, there’s one more issue to deal with: the painting professionals. The opposing views mean that, based on some of these experts, paints with the volatile organic compounds are better to use. The longevity of Earth friendly paint and the need to use more are reasons that experts give to oppose them. The paint industry has to think about the health worries relating to VOCs, including breathing complaints like asthma and that consumers are going for Earth friendly paints.
Latex paint that is water based might just be the answer to this issue. Since VOCs are not present, it means they are friendly to the environment. Still, as with just about everything, there is a downside: latex paints can’t be used to paint on iron because they are water based, which ends up making the iron become rusty much more quickly. Latex paints, despite their issues, are becoming increasingly sought after.
When we say ‘eco friendly paints’, we don’t simply mean the paint itself is environmentally safe, but also the procedure in which the paint was manufactured or how the ingredients were obtained. For instance, Titanium Dioxide is widely used in a lot of paints because of its white color, which only means it is is able to hide other paints. Manufacturing Titanium Dioxide might cause sulfuric acid production. This acid, along with the chemical substances that were dissolved in it, was released into the sea, which naturally is not great for the environment.
Smog is caused by the reaction between the Titanium Dioxide and the sun when used outdoors. A carcinogen that could result in cancer also has implications with Titanium Dioxide. While these issues are acknowledged Titanium Dioxide remains widely used in paints.
Consumers are beginning to use eco friendly paints now that they are learning more about the health and environmental significance of regular paints.
It feels terrible when you burn cash (yet again) on sustainable renewable energy argued. Kinda sucks when you spend your time waiting… and waiting. You could have ended all that if you only knew about sustainable renewable energy explained.
